The term splenium of the corpus callosum refers to the caudal most portion of the corpus callosum in the human ( Carpenter-1983 ), macaque ( Martin-2000 ), rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and mouse ( Franklin-2008 ). It is bounded rostrally by the body of the corpus callosum. It is Region 7 of seven parts defined in a common parcellation scheme for the corpus callosum. See corpus callosum (Witelson).
