The term area 25 of Brodmann (human) refers to a subdivision of the cytoarchitecturally defined cingulate region of cerebral cortex. In the human it is a narrow band located in the caudal portion of the subcallosal gyrus adjacent to the paraterminal gyrus from which it is separated by the posterior parolfactory sulcus. It is bounded by the area 11 of Brodmann (human) rostrally and by the paraterminal gyrus caudally ( Brodmann-1909, Vogt-1987 ).
