posterior complex of the thalamus

The term posterior complex of the thalamus refers to a group of cells located inferior to the lateral dorsal nucleus and medial to the ventral posteromedial nucleus in the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and the mouse ( Dong-2004 ). It is part of the polymodal association thalamus in the Functional CNS Model - Rat (see Models Where It Appears below).
