posteromedial orbital lobule
Acronym:
The term posteromedial orbital lobule refers to the convergence of the posterior orbital gyrus and the medial orbital gyrus at their junction with the anterior insula. Identified by dissection its boundaries are ill-defined; it is continuous rostrally with the orbital gyri and caudally with the transverse insular gyrus ( Ture-1999 ). It is present only in the human.
