area LO3
Acronym: LO3
The term area LO3 refers to a cortical structure located on the lateral surface of the cerebral hemisphere at the junction of the occipital lobe and temporal lobe, between early visual cortex and the MT+ complex of the human. Defined by multiple criteria, it is a part of MT+ neighbors. Compared to adjacent areas, it is less fMRI activated in a SOCIAL-RANDOM contrast and a TOOL task. It is deactivated in a RELATIONAL-MATCH contrast and in WORKING MEMORY, FACE and PLACE tasks. Other authors have referred to the same topological area as hOC4la ( Glasser-2016 ).
