area PG of Bonin

The term area PG of Bonin refers to a subdivision of the parietal lobe of the macaque defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture. It "is characterized by being unusually thick for parietal cortex, by the compactness of its small cells, by its fine radiations, by the vagueness of its horizontal stratification and by unusually thick v and vi, with v less clear than elsewhere" ( Bonin-1947 ).
