A research article in which connectivity of cortical areas 3, 1 and 2 were studied by surgical ablation and axonal degeneration in nine rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta). The cortical areas were mapped in an unlesioned hemisphere by cytoarchitecture as revealed by toluidine blue or cresyl violet stain.
