The term nucleus of the horizontal limb of the diagonal band refers to a group of cells associated rostrally with the horizontal limb of the diagonal band and that extends caudally as far as the lateral hypothalamic area ( Paxinos-2001 ). Some authors regard it to be part of the basal nucleus ( Swanson-1998, Hof-2000 )
