cerebellar plate

The term cerebellar plate refers to the embryologic structure that becomes the cerebellum. The dorsolateral portion of the alar plate on each side of the metabrain bends posteromedially to form a rhombic lip; the lips fuse to form the cerebellar plate ( Carpenter-1983 ).
