medullary cone

The term medullary cone refers to a surface feature of the spinal cord (SPC) identified by dissection. Found in all vertebrates, it is the conical termination of the SPC. It extends from the border of the lumboscral enlargement (SPClse) to the terminal filament ( Carpenter-1983, Lockhart-1959, Swanson-2014 ). Final 16 Jun 2025.
