posterior gray column

The term posterior gray column refers to one of three central gray columns of the spinal cord. It is composed of gray spinal laminae I-VI ( Schiebler-1999 ). The other columns are the lateral gray column and the anterior gray column. Because of its appearance in cross section it is also called the dorsal horn ( Carpenter-1983 ).
