central part of the anterior hypothalamic nucleus

The term central part of the anterior hypothalamic nucleus refers to one of four parts of the anterior hypothalamic nucleus as demonstrated by Nissl stain in the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and the mouse ( Dong-2004 ). The other three are the anterior part of the anterior hypothalamic nucleus; the dorsal part of the anterior hypothalamic nucleus; and the posterior part of the anterior hypothalamic nucleus. Functionally the anterior hypothalamic nucleus is part of the behavior control column of the brainstem motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
