The term stripe of Kaes is a myeloarchitectural term denoting a horizontal band of myelinated fibers in the most superficial part of the external pyramidal layer (layer III) ( Carpenter-1983 ) or the deep part of the external granular layer (layer II) ( Crosby-1962 ) of cerebral cortex.
