Nucleus limitans (Hassler)

The term Nucleus limitans (Hassler) refers to a composite substructure of the thalamus that includes the limitans nucleus, the posterior nucleus of the thalamus, the suprageniculate nucleus and part of the central lateral nucleus. It has three subdivisions: the limitans nucleus, the Nucleus limitans medialis (Hassler), and the Nucleus limitans portae (Hassler) ( Jones-1990 ).
