subcaudate terminal island

The term subcaudate terminal island refers to a cell group embedded in the internal capsule near its ventromedial boundary with the head of the caudate nucleus. It is seen in coronal section at about the anterior-posterior level of the septal nuclei ( Mai-1997 ).
