ventricular system of the brainstem

The term ventricular system of the brainstem refers to a part of the brainstem subdivided longitudinally. It includes the cerebral aqueduct of the midbrain and the fourth ventricle ( Traurig-2003 ). The other parts of the brainstem so divided are the anterior part of the brainstem, the brainstem tegmentum and the Tectum (Schiebler) ( Schiebler-1999 ).
