The term caudal sector of primary motor cortex refers to the more posterior of two parts of primary motor cortex defined on the basis of function and connectivity in the macaque ( Matelli-2004 ). The more anterior part is the rostral sector of primary motor cortex. The relation of the caudal sector to area 4p of Geyer in the human is undetermined.
