posterior cortical nucleus (Amaral)

The term posterior cortical nucleus (Amaral) refers to a group of cells in the caudal third of the amygdala of the macaque. It is located ventral to the medial amygdalar nucleus in the dorsomedial portion of amygdalohippocampal area ( Amaral-1992 ).
