area Id1 (Id1)

The term area Id1 refers to the most ventral of three subdivisions of the dysgranular insula. Identified by multiple stains, it is found in the human ( Morel-2013 ) and the macaque ( Gallay-2012 ). The others are area Id2 and area Id3.
