intermediate zone of the anterior region

The term intermediate zone of the anterior region refers to one of three zones of the anterior region of the motor lateral hypothalamus in the rat. They are defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture and connections.The other parts are the dorsal zone of the anterior region and the ventral zone of the anterior region. Functionally, the motor lateral hypothalamus belongs to the reticular formation (functional) of the brainstem motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
