periamygdalar region (par)

The term periamygdalar region (par) refers to a surface feature of structures overlying the amygdala on the mesioventral surface of the cerebral hemisphere. In humans and macaques it overlies parts of the anterior parahippocampal gyrus (PHGa) of the limbic lobe (LLB) ( Carpenter-1983 ).
