area 3 of Mauss (3)

The term area 3 of Mauss refers to a subdivision of the postcentral gyrus of the macaque and the guenon defined on the basis of myeloarchitecture. Mauss regarded it as topologically homologous to the cytoarchitectonic area 3 of Brodmann (guenon) ( Mauss-1908 ).
