The term nucleus y refers to a group cells between the inferior cerebellar peduncle and the lateral vestibular nucleus in the medulla of the human ( Holstein-2012 ), macaque ( Paxinos-2009a ), rat ( Swanson-1998 ) and mouse ( Paxinos-2001 ). Functionally it belongs to the vestibulomotor regions of the behavior control column ( Swanson-2004 ).
