area 19b of Vogts
Acronym: 19b
The term area 19b of Vogts refers to one of two parts of area 19 of Vogts based on cytoarchitecture and myeloarchitecture in the guenon. The authors did not regard it as topologically or architectonically homologous to area 19 of Mauss or to area 19 of Brodmann (guenon). The other part is area 19a of Vogts from which it differs in that area 19b has fewer large pyramidal cells in layer III and fewer granular cells in layer IV ( Vogts-1919 ).
