hippocampal region (Brodmann)

The term hippocampal region (Brodmann) refers to a cytoarchitecturally defined portion of the cerebral cortex in the human. It is largely located on the medial surface of the temporal lobe adjacent to the hippocampal complex. It is composed of the presubiculum, the entorhinal cortex, the perirhinal area and area 48 of Brodmann ( Brodmann-1909 ).
