intralaminar group of the dorsal thalamus

The term intralaminar group of the dorsal thalamus refers to a set of substructures of the thalamus grouped on the basis of connectivity and function in the Functional CNS Model - Rat ( Swanson-2004 ). One of five components of the polymodal association thalamus. it consists of all nuclei of the classical intralaminar nuclear group except the central dorsal nucleus and the central lateral nucleus; and it includes the rhomboid nucleus of the midline nuclear group.
