The term area 29l refers to the more lateral of two subdivisions of area 29, which are defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture in the human and the macaque ( Vogt-2012 ). It is located caudally in the posterior cingulate gyrus and the isthmus of the cingulate gyrus between the subiculum laterally and area 29m medially ( Vogt-1987 ),
