inferior precentral dimple

The term inferior precentral dimple refers to a depression in the precentral gyrus of the macaque ( Krieg-1975 ). While some authors refer to it as the anterior subcentral sulcus ( Szabo-1984; Martin-2000 ), it differs from that sulcus in the human by lack of connection to the lateral fissure. The structure in the macaque is in closer proximity to the central sulcus than to the lateral fissure. Equivalent features are not seen in the smooth cerebral cortex of the rat or mouse ( NeuroNames ).
